The Loft at Walnut Hill Farm, LLC was purchased in August, 2013 by Alan and Sharon Armstrong, their daughter Dr. Ashley Armstrong, and Ashley’s husband Robert Heath Prince.
Alan and Sharon are both graduates of Indiana University and were educators for 43 years before retiring from teaching in 2016. Dr. Ashley Armstrong and Heath Prince are graduates of Purdue University. Robert is employed by General Motors and Ashley owns Regional Veterinary Services.
The purchase of the Loft at Walnut Hill Farm was always intended as a cattle farm. However, the beautiful meadows, hills, and trees were so breath-taking, we decided to share it with others. Shortly after purchasing the farm, the idea of turning part of the farm into a wedding venue was born. What better way to share the rustic serene surrounding than to have brides, families, and friends have their dream come true in a natural sanctuary?
Working with a local contractor and Loyd Graber Construction Group, renovations began on the bridal cottage and the dilapidated old Dutch Hoop Barn in January, 2014. The construction and renovation moved to the swine farrowing house and the construction of the pavilion in March 2014.
Our constant work: mowing, weed eating, fence building, painting, and landscaping reveals our labor of love into this beautiful wedding venue.
The Loft officially opened August 1, 2014. The first wedding was September 13, 2014, and the rest is history. We hope the Loft is where memories are made and dreams come true!

There is a Dutch Hoop Barn located in the center of the property. The Loft of the “Hoop Barn” is accessed from ground level. The Loft itself will hold approximately 230 guests for a wedding ceremony.
The Loft may also be used for receptions, cocktail hour, or as a very large dance floor. The Loft is climate controlled and includes three crystal chandeliers that are over 150 years old that once hung in the old Bedford Post Office.
We have added a 12′ x 28′ deck on the back of the Hoop Barn. This deck may be used for a Live Band or DJ. Weather permitting, it can also be used for additional seating for the Loft and Pavilion or as a perfect photo opportunity.
The basement of the Hoop Barn can be used for an indoor reception area, bar area, or to set up a large buffet.
There is a covered 40 x 64 ft. Pavilion that will hold 250-300 people. Large dimmer-controlled chandeliers and ceiling fans fill the ceiling to the Pavilion. A 40 x 32 open dance floor is connected to the Pavilion, more tables can be added to this area for even more seating.
The old farrowing barn is attached to the pavilion. The farrowing barn has been completely remodeled to include a kitchen, men’s dressing room, men’s and women’s restrooms. The kitchen, restrooms, and dressing room are all climate controlled. The kitchen includes two oven ranges, two stand-up refrigerator/ freezers, an ice machine, a triple sink, and counter space. All of the caterers have loved the kitchen!
A 5-room cottage is also available to the bridal party on the day of the wedding. The cottage has been completely remodeled; it has 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, bath and two sunrooms. The cottage is completely climate controlled. It is the perfect place to do hair, makeup, and relax getting ready for your special day. The cottage may also be rented out for an additional charge as a Honeymoon Suite the night of the wedding. Many of our newlyweds have taken advantage of this option!
A third primitive and rustic barn may be used as a backdrop for an Outdoor Wedding or for photos. There are several open areas, rustic outbuildings, and large trees for couples wanting an outdoor ceremony or beautiful backgrounds for photos
There is a fire pit and fire ring to use as well. Many brides have placed a s’mores bar close to the fire ring.
Hoping to have everything ready by August 1, 2014. We are now booking weddings, receptions, corporate parties, class reunions and private parties. We are very excited about our first wedding booked September 13, 2014!
